After self-distributing their home-made CD-Rs in 2007 and 2008, Istanbul based kim ki o released first mini album Dans through Netherland’s Enfant Terrible in 2010. The duo’s second LP Grounds followed in 2013 through Paris based Lentonia Records. kim ki o has toured in Europe and UK with acts like The Radio Dept., Moon Duo and Jens Lekman and played many shows and festivals around. In 2014, Bir, İki… compilation album released by Ss Records in US brought together the duo’s early recordings. ZAN, the fourth kim ki o album, has been released last year, through Lentonia Records.

Cortez is a pair off the stage and a power trio (guitar, drums, vocals) live. Always at the forefront of contemporary noise-hardcore, their music is a condensation of a rare brutality, inventive, and including many external artistic influences.

Samuel Vaney (guitar) and Grégoire Quartier (drums) produce everything, and the latter is accompanied by a guitarist (Jérémy Spagnolo) and a singer (Antoine Läng) live.

The band is once again preparing to push the limits of its genre with the release of their 3rd album No More Conqueror. After Initial (2005) and Phoebus (2013), the Helvetians reaffirm their radicality, more direct and concise than ever.

No More Conqueror is a masterful display of roiling metallic hardcore. This thing is a colossal sounding clash of sounds, with a massive production courtesy of Raphael Bovey (Zatokrev, Impure Wilhelmina, Convulsif).

LEM est le projet de Nicolas Ekla, ancien membre des Brochettes et de Ming.

LEM joue de ses vieilles boîtes à rythmes et de ses synthés foutraques, accompagné à la basse de Wilf Plum (ex Dog-faced Hermans) et aux claviers de Cha! (Refurinn Kitsune) pour servir une sorte d'électro-pop décalée en français.

Entre modernité new-wave et poésie noire, dérive urbaine et hymnes amoureux.

ARNE VINZON (fr)

Découvert avec l’album Le monde entier et son hit-single Lente dépression (600 000 vues sur Youtube), Arne Vinzon avait créé le buzz en 2011 par sa manière unique de marier tragédie existentielle et légèreté pop, cold-wave et autodérision, pleurs et danses binaires. En 2013, il trompait son monde en faisant succéder à cet album plein d’audaces et d’humour, Les belles structures, amer constat de désillusion, tentative de fuite hors de la terre et de la réalité, en avion, en bateau, ou dans une voiture qui filait dangereusement sur les routes de Normandie. Aux otaries du bois de Vincennes succédait la vision désespérée d’un monde violent et cynique, l’imprudence de Bashung et la mélancolie technoïde remplaçant les jeunes gens modernes et autres Partenaires Particuliers.

Cinq ans plus tard, le constat se fait plus rude encore, en parfait reflet des petites apocalypses personnelles qui font la grande apocalypse générale. Arne Vinzon continue d’y siffloter, mais comme déjà détaché de la pesanteur terrestre, en oiseau messia(e)nique annonciateur des grands silences à venir. Un oiseau qui n’a plus le courage de chanter, dans le vent glacé, c’est un peu comme un fonctionnaire démissionnaire ou en disponibilité.

Portée par des rythmiques electro minimales et des nappes synthétiques détunées, la voix aussi grave que fragile d’Arne Vinzon, tel un Major Tom des territoires intérieurs, se réduit, comme le langage, de la lamentation à la simple respiration, jusqu’au dernier souffle, et un point final. Et dans le grand streaming et les petits clouds, c’est comme un oiseau qui chante sa dernière mélodie.

Sealionwoman was formed by way of a fortuitous, chance meeting of Scottish-born jazz-influenced vocalist Kitty Whitelaw and double bass player Tye McGivern.

The stripped-down duo line-up of Sealionwoman coalesced around Whitelaw’s rich and beguiling vocal and McGivern’s atmospherically inventive approach to his instrument. A defiantly uncategorisable sound was born, equally informed by melancholic soundscapes, torch-song transgressions and rapturous drama. McGivern offers Bad Seeds-style atmospherics influenced by noir-jazz degenerates Morphine and a Colin Stetson-esque approach to minimalism. This is masterfully fused with Whitelaw’s theatrical inspired vocals, taking inspiration from iconoclastic vocal stylists like Beth Gibbons, Circuit Des Yeux’s Haley Fohr, and Sarah Vaughan.

The Kings Of Belgium is a powerful trio of atomic jazz-punk-disco-reaggae pop-trash core music.

At first a humble attic project, later moving to a basement, and currently a bedroom, PEGA began with 6 women meeting on Sundays for a "mumusicale" cleansing session. Then there were 5, then 4, and finally 3: Aude (bass and voice), Bárbara (guitar, voice; member of TUVALU) and Leslie (drums). Now, PEGA is a type of music that sets your inner wiggle in motion, revealing you soul, or at least trying to (magic is still an unstable science). This is Dino-post-punk that sways with a heavy gait, noise-rock released straight from an apartment ficus. Prestigious rock’n roll guaranteed!

Paracelze is an avant-rock band from Switzerland built on a particular line-up : violin, bass, drums. Straying away from a folklore dominated by the binary kicks of contemporary Oriental electro, Keyvane Alinaghi becomes Hassan K. and transcends the fluctuant borders of Persian music.
As much a fiddler as an adamant defender of a free and open-source culture, polymath DIY artist… For more than 10 years, this solo artist has been boundlessly blending Persian rituals with new technologies, the West with the East, surf music with belly dancing, swing with cyber-metal, film scores with harsh noise…The multi-instrumentalist musician is a traditionalist who does not play around with folklore, but rather searches for the essence of a millennial culture, in order to offer it a second breath without ever deteriorating it.
Composed without any sample, note by note, click by click, just as would a Benedictine monk (Ishraq?), each album is an initiatory passage, a theosophical stage which narratively echoes the Iranian spiritual chivalry.
To finalize this journey, the musician must constantly assess the live restitution of an electronic piece which was thought within a studio. Hassan K. crafts his tools, bends or upgrades traditional eastern instruments (electric setar, sensors, robotized santoor) in order not to indefinitely linger within virtuality and to lead spectators towards a trance-like, intensively energetic live.

Le label bruxellois Cheap Satanism Records a passé le cap des 13 années de service en octobre dernier. Si l'on en croit sa page Facebook, il promet que "beaucoup de choses vont se passer sous cette bannière, 666 projets au moins !" Si le label est encore loin d'avoir atteint le nombre promis, il n'a pas chômé pour autant et affiche plus de 60 sorties avec pas moins 40 artistes et 100 événements au compteur. Il compte encore bien améliorer ses statistiques avec ce Satan Day Night Fever de derrière les fagots.

Au programme: 3 jours mêlant concerts, exposition et petit salon de distros et micro-éditions.
Pour l'exposition, Cheap Satanism Records a proposé une carte blanche à ses camarades du Sterput, la galerie d'art associative bruxelloise qu'on ne présente plus vraiment.

Au niveau musique, il y aura du beau monde. Le vendredi fera place à un trio de duos avec Trotski Nautique (synth-pop minimaliste drolatique), Alk-a-line (électro sonique ensorcelé) et Heimat (avant pop post-wave). Le samedi sera plus minimaliste avec Solah qui jouera les reprises dépouillées de son dernier album et Lotissement qui viendra présenter un set ambiant préparé pour l'occasion. Enfin, le dimanche, on terminera avec la disco doom satanique de Duflan Duflan.

Si la répétition des références sataniques vous fait peur, n'ayez crainte, car il est plus question ici de poil à gratter que de boucs sacrifiés.
